ART BY RFK is the product of Riaz Khandwala, who retired early from banking to explore his passions in what he considers to be the final, Act III of his life. Post banking, Riaz Khandwala did a brief but memorable stint as a trainee detective constable with the Metropolitan Police London, took flying lessons to reimagine his childhood dream of becoming a pilot, set up a property letting business, and devoted time to understand the psyche of fear, greed and mania in the financial and property markets.
He discovered his passion for painting in the summer of 2022 after enrolling in a Basic Drawing and Painting course at the Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture, Karachi. Largely self-taught, he developed his techniques by reading books and watching YouTube videos. He also attended a course on Creative Life Drawing at the Central Saint Martins London.
Riaz Khandwala has an interest in philosophy, theology and humanity. Prior to painting, poetry and writing was his go to form of creative expression. Now he believes that creative contemporary art allows a greater form of expression and has the potential to reach a wider audience.
His artistic journey continues to evolve as he experiments with different mediums to express his thoughts and ideas about life's myriad experiences, humanistic themes, and glimpses into current-world situations. Whether through subtle nuances, symbolism, or bold compositions, his art seeks to inspire dialogue through thought-provoking themes. ART BY RFK showcases a diverse collection of contemporary artworks. Each piece is an original creation and there are no reproductions.
